Pictures from Jackie

Hey Jeff,
Based on the new post of old photos, I found the ones I had of your grandparents, and in that same album were some of a visit Randy and I (and our Shar Pei Roland) and your mom and dad paid to Debbi & Steve's, and then we all carried onto Banff I believe it was. I think the birthday party was Dayna's 8th if I remember correctly, and their little American Eskimo pup was named Glacier-in the one picture, Randy is holding Roland back as the pup is pouncing on top of him! Rob is in the picture in the background behind Kristy in the last one.

POLAROIDS

These pics are from an old polaroid album in my bookcase. Some have explanations on them, some don't. Might stir up a few memories amongst the family members. They date back to 1978, when Dad and I and David went to Disneyland with Linda and Stuart. Linda was preggers with Amy and they wouldn't let her go on the wilder rides, she was really cheesed off. Good pics of the Country Squire station wagon. And remember Bootsie, the cat from hell, she and Dave would chase each other, your turn, my turn, all over the house. She ran up the drapes one day, right to the very top, and didn't know how to get back down. She was vicious too, half Burmese, Dave was covered with scratches, it's a wonder he didn't get cat-scratch fever. Remember Smokey, one of our shepherds? yes, she could sit up and beg; her one failing was her extreme fear of thunder, she'd break down the door to get in the house, and scrunched up under the kitchen table and shook all over. Remember the macrame hanging table I made for Debbie and Steve's wedding cake to hang on? There it is, sold it to somebody after for $200, the only money I ever made from advanced macrame! Except for when I taught it for Continuing Ed, they paid me $20 an hour, a fortune in those days! I loved macrame, too bad it went out of style, it will come back in again some day. How do you like the wave petunias we grew in the summer time at 9257? I had forgotten how beautiful our flowers were. The one of Dad with the tomato plant in front of him, is the famous TUMBLER tomato, they produce amazing amounts of mid size tomatoes. How I long for the tasty tomatoes fresh out of the garden, especially when I'm confronted with the cardboard field tomatoes served here at the lodge. Our tomatoes were my job, not Dad's, he had no idea how to prune them, liked eating them though! Some years I even had to can them, we had so many all ripening at the same time. We ate them constantly, stuffed ourselves with them, and still there were more every day. Camille mentioned one time about her Grandpa growing luscious tomatoes, and how wonderful they were. Well, so were our's, always. The last year I grew them I had 17 plants, that was the year after Dad passed away, 2006. I still had my little garden going full speed ahead when Steve and I sold the house in September 2006.

Have fun remembering, everybody.

Jeff said; well, it took awhile, but i seem to have seperated the many multiple pictures, sent on single scans, by a certain someone. I didn't bother to coordinate the order of text and pictures, so it might be a bit jumbled up. I HATE TOUCHPADS.

Guess who?

Some time back, my Mom suggested an idea for the blog, of putting up some pictures of people we all know, when they were younger, and carousing f-book yesterday, i had the not so brilliant idea to nick some pics, by permission of owner, and do a guess who. It's not really a guess who, cause i give away the answer, but at least i had fun. And i've never seen these baby pictures of the lovely ladies in the last photo....and isn't that mist amongst the trees in the background beautiful?

There could be a guess who challenge though...which one is Kristin, and which one is Karina? That's WITHOUT checking you know what book.

Morrison reunion, in May.

(My sister sent me these wonderful pictures after i said, "i must the the laziest blogger in the world. All i do is put up these family pictures, and say next to nothing"). It's true, i AM the lazy, the geraniums are beautiful, and i love these pictures.

The other five pictures of Jack, ADY, and CeCe. Text possibly to follow.

FW:10 PICTURES FOR YOU .(that's what unohoo titled it).

I'm writing a post covering the first five pictures of this bunch, when the girls and Jack came to visit me at my lodge, and a good time was had by all! Linda brought Ady, (not Amy, correction by request), CeCe, and Jack over to check out Great Granny and Diamond Willow Lodge. A beautiful, sunshiny day, we decided to have a cookies and rootbeer picnic on a blanket under a shady tree just outside my room window. The kids ran up and down my nice steep hill. searched and searched for the fawn that was supposed to be hiding in the long grass......never did find him, his mom must've put him somewhere else. CeCe had to step really carefully so she wouldn't step on him and frighten them both. In the next picture Granny is teaching the girls (Jack's there too. out of sight....) how to "grass whistle". They each had to find a long, wide piece of grass for their whistle, then Granny showed them how to hold the whistle and the ghastly sounds it made. (Do all our BLOG readers know how to grass whistle? If you don't, Granny will be glad to conduct an arts and craft course....anytime...sign up today!).

We decided to move my very heavy sun cot from its resting place beneath my window, close against the wall so it's protected from the rain by the very wide overhang going all the way around the building. Jack and CeCe mostly moved it onto the grass by themselves, Jack is very powerful, very strong little man. Then when we moved it back, Linda wanted a shot of all of us sitting on the cot, so that's what you see in Picture No. 4. See the bed of rocks the cot is resting on? Each kid got to check them over and pick out a rock to take with them for a pet. CeCe found a really interesting one shaped like a whelk shell, very unusual. And Jack found a shiny one, chock full of tiny diamonds. Ady searched and searched until she found one that looked like it wanted to be a pet rock.

When we came back into the lodge after the picnic, we did the official building tour, and discovered the best play toy, ever! a pool table complete with colorful balls (no cues, thank you very much for hiding them, guys).....but it didn't matter, they could've used up the better part of a half hour shooting those balls into the little pockets, that was such fun! But it was coming onto 12 noon, and Great-Granny's lunch was calling, so Linda rounded them up for loading and back home to Raymond and the swimming pool ! Maybe Linda will tell y'all about that, and the camping trip to Writing-on-Stone provincial park. What a wonderful grandma she is, her grandchildren LOVE visiting her house.
